What is the difference between Mundus Pro and Mundus?

Both devices have the same UV-C disinfection technology. Mundus Pro has a larger internal chamber, two wireless charging spots and an 18W USB-A Quick Charge port; Mundus has a smaller chamber and a single wireless charging spot.

How does the UV-C disinfection work?

Mundus Pro and Mundus utilize a comprehensive disinfection process that combines broad-spectrum UV-C light with titanium dioxide and naturally occurring ozone. The UV-C lamps emit wavelengths of 264 nm, which destroy microbial DNA and effectively kill the entire organism. Higher-wavelength UV-C LEDs are also used to target a wider range of microbes, as different viruses and bacteria are sensitive to different UV-C wavelengths. The UV-C LEDs produce ozone molecules that help destroy microbe cell walls. Additionally, the interior of the disinfecting chamber is coated with titanium dioxide, a photocatalytic agent that enhances the germicidal effect of both the UV-C light and ozone. The textured bottom of the interior chamber allows the UV-C light to disinfect objects from every angle.

How long does the disinfection cycle last?

The disinfection cycle of Mundus and Mundus Pro lasts for eight minutes. The LED light on the power button lights up by a quarter every two minutes to indicate the cycle's progression. When the full cycle is finished, the power button LED goes from flashing to steady and beeps three consecutive times. The disinfection cycle can be stopped before the full eight minutes; it's already 99.98% effective after just two. Stop the cycle at any time by simply opening the lid.

Is there a risk of UV exposure?

No, there is no risk of direct exposure to UV light. The UV-C lightbulbs and LEDs automatically turn off whenever the lid is opened before the completion of the disinfection cycle. To restart the cycle, close the lid and press the power button.

Where are the wireless charging spots located?

On the Einova logo on the lid of the device. Older versions of the product use the Qi logo instead of the Einova logo.

This feature limits the time an iPhone spends at a full charge by only charging up to 80% until certain conditions are met.
