FAQs
Can the Laptop Power Bank be used whilst charging?
Yes, it can. The power bank includes a pass-through charging function, allowing the power bank's battery to receive charge itself whilst passing on power to other connected devices.
Can all three USB ports be used at the same time?
Yes, all three can be used simultaneously, for a maximum 63W power output.
What's the best power adapter to use for recharging?
The Laptop Power Bank charges through the USB-C port. For fast charging and to take advantage of the pass-through function, we recommend using a ≥30W USB-C charger. You can also use a USB-A charger by connecting the included USB-C to USB-A adapter tip to a USB-C cable.
How does the LCD display work?
The LCD display shows battery levels with a number from 0 (empty) to 100 (fully charged). A green dot appears on the screen when the USB-C Power Delivery port is in use.
What's the purpose of the on/off button?
The button allows you to optimise battery life by turning the device off when not in use. Note that the power bank will turn on automatically when it senses a connected device.
Can the Laptop Power Bank be taken on an airplane?
Yes, it can. The Laptop Power Bank contains a 74Wh lithium-ion battery; commercial airlines generally allow lithium-ion batteries up to 100Wh in carry-on luggage.
Which laptop models are compatible?
All USB-C charging laptops are compatible with the Laptop Power Bank, including MacBook Pro, HP - PC Pavilion 15, Acer Chromebook, Lenovo IdeaPad 3 and many more. The Laptop Power Bank is also backwards compatible with barrel power port laptops by attaching a Type-C Tip to your charging cable.
Please note that more powerful laptops (those with a native power input of ≥45W) may not be able to reach a full charge, or they may recharge more slowly. For these machines, recharge the laptop whilst turned off or in standby mode for the best recharging performance.
Why isn't my Mac charging beyond 80%?
With the release of macOS Big Sur, Apple introduced Optimised Battery Charging, a feature that uses machine learning to help preserve battery life. This feature limits the time a device spends at a full charge by only charging up to 80% until certain conditions are met. This is a normal function of Optimised Battery Charging and does not indicate any defect in your Einova charger.
